The North Dakota Championship
Tournament is held ever year in May, in
Bismarck,
ND it is an open tournament with the
top
North Dakota player crown as the ND State
Champion. This Tournament started in 1974 as a closed tournament, as
far as I can tell in 1998 it was made an open tournament with the top
scoring ND resident named the State Champion, Prior to 1974 the
Tournament, that is now known as the ND Open, was held in Fargo, the top
scoring ND resident was crown the state champion. In the 60's and early
70's the tournament was held in
Fargo. In 1963 and 1964 the tournament
was held in
Minot, in 1957 in
Grand Forks, in 1956 in
Bismarck, and from 1948 - 1955 it was
held in
Grand Forks. Thanks to John
